Beihai Park, an imperial garden which dates back to the days of Kublai Khan, located on the northwest corner of the Forbidden City and south of Houhai. It is one of the largest of Chinese gardens, built in the 10th century. Beihai park contains numerous historically important structures, temples and palaces.
