Historic map of city of Nicosia (Cyprus), created in 1597. Author is a Venetian Giacomo Franco (1550-1620) cartographer, engraver and publisher in Venice. This map is taken from his book Viaggio da Venetia a Constantinopoli per mare with additional comments by Giuseppe Rosaccio (1530. – 1603./1620.).

Here is a map of Cyprus by Ottoman Empire’s Kaptan Pasha, Piri Reis. Piri Reis was an Ottoman-Turkish admiral, geographer, cartographer and privateer born between 1465 and 1470 in Gallipoli on the Aegean coast of Turkey. This map is taken from Kitab-ı Bahriye (Book of Navigation).
