This historic map represents Varbola Stronghold by L. A. Mellin in 1786.
Varbola Stronghold was one of the largest circular rampart fortresses and trading centers built in Estonia, Harju County (Latin: Harria) in the 10th – 12th centuries. Parts of the ruins of the 580 meter long and 8-10 meter high limestone wall of the fortress stand til this day.
